From New Wave to Anna Karina

Monday, February 12th, 2007

I’ve been on a magic carpet ride. From Last.fm to Youtube. And eventually I’ll go to Loppen. Full circle.

Loppen -> Last.fm -> Nouvelle Vague -> The Perfect Kiss -> Dance with me… -> Wikisearch -> Bande apart -> The Madison -> Godard -> IMDB -> Anna Karina -> Dancing at the cafe

Meanwhile, I’ll put the hypnotizing video below on repeat. Very cool.

The Nouvelle Vague version (Dance with me).

Original scene from Godard’s Bande à part. Apparently, this 60’s scene was the principal inspiration for another famous dance scene.

Wikipedia: “…the company was seeking a new name because sales had dropped as much as 50 percent due to publicity about the disease.”

I-L-L-I-N-O-I-S! , Or me pondering the potential of lyrical attributes

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

You gotta love the song titles by Sufjan Stevens.

My favourite must be this one:

The Black Hawk War, or, How to Demolish an Entire Civilization and Still Feel Good About Yourself in the Morning, or, We Apologize for the Inconvenience But You’re Going to Have to Leave Now, or, ‘I have fought the Big Knives and will continue to fight them until they are off our lands!

Stevens must have been reading “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” when authoring such titles.

What’s is your favourite Sufjan Stevens song title?

Got word verification?

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

Apparently not. This is a beautiful example of what will happen if you don’t turn on word verification on comments to your blog posts. It’s also a dead give-away; the guys behind Kesera apparently don’t read the comments people make to their posts.

(The post content itself is just blog-stuffing, in Danish. Nevermind)

The devil will find work for idle hands to do

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

It took me an hour to write this. I thought and felt I had something to say. I didn’t.

Discarded post themes:
“Music for concentrated high-impact work” - I thought I listened to a specific sort of music when I set my mind in powerwork mode. After trying to find the top 5 powerwork tracks, I realized that they were just my top 5 favourite tracks.

“Odd pieces of info in job applications” - After writing the first 5 lines I realized that I sounded like the stuck up wise-ass arrogant asshole type that I truly hate.

What are you listening to?

Last.fm has invaded this blog too. I couldn’t leave it alone any more, the coolness factor finally won me over. That, and the excuse to fool around with some reverse code engineering again.

Any ways, my blog and Last.fm have maided.

Flickr geotagging

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Flickr has finally introduced geotagging. It’s pretty cool, not sub-zero, but a must have and a natural extension of their features.

However, I’m more looking forward to the code snippet that’ll give me maps on my blog.

The story is slashdotted.
